What categories of medical products are Parylene coatings widely used in?

如心脏起搏器、血管支架、人工耳、人工心脏、超声波探头、医用线路板,骨钉、临时外科手术器械、替换型器件、引流管、脑部探针及针头等产品。

  • Pressure sensors – sensitive electronic devices such as blood pressure sensors can be fully insulated by depositing a small amount of Parylene, and a small amount of protective coating will not significantly change the operation of these devices.
  • Precision electronic circuits in cardiac assist devices, such as pacemakers and shock generators, can be sealed with Parylene to prevent corrosion from biological fluids. Parylene is also used to protect the metal casing of these devices.
  • Alternative devices – metal instruments such as replica artificial devices that can be protected by Parylene deposition to eliminate issues related to microscopic looseness and provide protection against biological liquid corrosion.
  • Bone Needle – Parylene is used to protect bone nails and surgical instruments from corrosion and provide lubrication without reducing size limitations.
  • Electronic circuits – Complex surface mount and hybrid electronic circuits, which can be protected from water and chemical corrosion and provide good dielectric properties after being deposited with Parylene.
  • Urethral catheter – molded devices such as urinary catheters that are protected by Parylene deposition can provide good lubrication and prevent corrosion of biological fluids.
  • Ultrasonic transducer – used to observe micro sensors on the inner wall of blood vessels. After being deposited with Parylene, it can avoid corrosion and insulation breakdown.
  • The low friction coefficient of Parylene core rod is beneficial for manufacturing, and its consistent coating performance ensures the quality of the final product.
  • Bone growth stimulator – Parylene can isolate this device from biological fluids to prevent corrosion. Human cells are prone to grow and form thin layers of tissue with the same structure on the surface of Parylene deposition.
  • Brain probe – Parylene can lubricate the surface of the brain stimulation probe and selectively insulate it.
  • Needle – Parylene deposits on the outer and inner surfaces of the needle to seal the metal’s microscopic looseness and form a smooth, pore free surface. Thereby reducing the possibility of adhering dirt. The permeability of Parylene N makes it very easy to penetrate and form a protective layer on the internal surface.
  • Sleeve – a precision instrument used for cesarean section surgery, such as a burning sleeve with a conductive metal shaft. After depositing insulation with Parylene, guide the RF energy to reach the precise area at the tip.
